Alyce P. Parker
Alyce Parker is the Secretary of the Rowan University Foundation Board of Directors and has been on the Board since 2002.
She is the Vice President of Public Affairs for Harrah's Entertainment, Atlantic City, which is the largest gaming and entertainment company in the world. She directs media relations, community relations and regional governmental relations for Harrah's, Showboat, Caesar's and Bally's casinos as well as the Atlantic City Country Club.
She returned to Harrah's in 2005 after founding Alyce Parker & Associates (1995), a full-service public relations, business development, community relations and governmental relations firm focused on the southern New Jersey marketplace.
Ms. Parker began her public relations career working for hospitals, youth organizations and government prior to coming to Atlantic City where she directed public relations for the opening of the Tropicana Casino. She later spent close to 15 years working for Harrah's Atlantic City (1983-95). She has worked closely with local Atlantic City organizations including the First Ward Civic Association, the Atlantic City Adopt-A-School programs, the Atlantic City Chapter of the NAACP, Southern NJ Community Food Bank and the Atlantic County Senior Nutrition Site programs. She is also a board member of the NJ Conference on Diversity and the South Jersey AIDS Alliance.
A southern New Jersey native, she received a bachelor's degree in political science and communications from Rowan in 1974 and later, a master's in administration from Rider University. In 2007 she was named the recipient of the University's Distinguished Alumnus Award. Ms. Parker served on the Rowan University Alumni Board in the 1990s.
