The Rowan Future Fund
Annual gifts, particularly those that are unrestricted, allow Rowan much-needed flexibility in directing funds to areas of critical need throughout the University. Gifts to the Rowan Future Fund affect all areas of Rowan: providing funds for scholarships, student organizations, classroom remodeling and renovation, instructional technology, student and faculty research projects, course development, and other academic initiatives. Rowan also strives to provide a wholesome college experience through extra-curricular programming in athletics, arts and culture along with civic engagement.
Contributions of any size will not only support the university's students, faculty and programs, but also demonstrate a vote of confidence in Rowan. Every year thousands of alumni, parents and friends express their loyalty and pride in the people and programs of the University by making a donation.
What does my gift to the Rowan Future Fund support?
Unrestricted gifts provide flexibility to fund our most pressing needs, supporting things like:
- providing scholarships and financial aid for deserving students,
- attracting and retaining excellent faculty in all disciplines,
- improving technology in classrooms and labs to maximize the learning experience of students,
- supporting creative teaching methods,
- providing access to the latest classroom technology,
- strengthening the curriculum
- expanding the offering of volumes and journals in the library
- enhancing activities and extra-curricular programs
Can I restrict my Rowan Future Fund donation to an area of special interest?
Although Rowan prefers unrestricted gifts that can be directed to areas of greatest need, donors may designate their gifts to areas that match their philanthropic interests including any academic department, Student Activities club, varsity or club sport, or other officially recognized area of the University.
Why should I support the Rowan Future Fund?
The value of a Rowan education — Rowan University provides students an education of the highest caliber. Rowan attracts bright, motivated students who welcome the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated faculty. These students thrive in an environment enlivened by the variety of class/degree offerings, the latest and greatest technologies including online course, and the desire to give back to the community.
Help a deserving student—Only a portion of the cost of educating each student is paid for by tuition and state funding; for the rest, the university relies on private support from alumni and others. Rowan depends on gifts from alumni, parents, friends and the community to give students the quality, well rounded educational experience that has always been its focus.

What are matching gifts?
Matching gifts are a corporate-sponsored benefit wherein a company matches its employees’ personal contributions. Some companies triple or even quadruple their employees’ donations. Contact your Human Resources office to find out if your company has a matching gift program and to obtain the required form or online processing site.
Why does my gift matter?
Gifts to the Rowan Future Fund have a tremendous impact. They cover a broad range of immediate needs and maintain the University's academic edge. Every dollar counts when combined with the donations of thousands of other alumni, parents and friends.
Memorial Gifts
Gifts to Rowan University may be made in memory of family members, classmates, alumni, professors and friends. Memorial gifts can be designated to any fund, but will be placed in The Rowan Future Fund if no designation is indicated. Family members will receive notification of memorial gifts.
Honor Gifts
An honor gift can be used in many ways – to honor a family member, friend, classmate, alumnus or professors who is still living; to recognize an entire class year; to pay tribute to someone in recognition of a recent accomplishment – the choice is yours. Honor gifts are a wonderful way to help Rowan while showing respect for the honoree.

Giving Societies
Membership in a giving society is based on the total amount of gifts given or committed to the Rowan University Foundation and the Rowan University Alumni Association.
Corporate matching gifts generated as the result of an individual’s personal contributions are included in an individual’s gift total for the purposes of establishing gift club membership.
