Rowan University Foundation

Fundraising

In 1992, a $100 million commitment was secured from Henry and Betty Rowan, at the time the largest-ever gift to a public institution. This gift has been the catalyst for redefining the institution's future. Since the Rowan gift, 15 gifts of $1 million or more have been received.

The Division of University Advancement plans to focus on fundraising initiatives prioritized based on the University's Strategic Plan and ten-year vision. To that end, the Division has instituted college-based programs to seek funds for college-specific initiatives. Funds raised through these efforts will support faculty chairs, professorships, fellowships, scholarships, honors programs, research centers, collections, facilities and other academic priorities.

In addition, the staff will focus on pursuing and cultivating personal relationships and reaching out to alumni, volunteers, deans, faculty and administration. As a result of these efforts, these groups will feel ownership of University achievements and objectives and will in turn ensure the success of the University's fund-raising program.
